First Aid

First Aid training is an important part of the Air Training Corps training programme. The Squadron, due to the commanding Officer being the Wing First Aid Training Officer, encourages this, which starts with an introduction in the basic training using the Heartstart training program (2hrs), before leading onto the in house training package backed by the St. John Ambulance (16hrs), which is the same as used by the army cadet force. Cadets and staff over sixteen, can them progress onto the competency based standard first aid scheme (28hrs), offered through the Wing, and run by the British Red Cross.
